I have been taking this multivitamin every day for a little over a year. I am a biochemist by trade and have worked in quality assurance for an unaffiliated nutritional supplement company in the past, so I am very familiar with multivitamin formulas, ingredients, and production.

I will first say that this multivitamin is top-notch. I have consistently led a very high-stress, fast-paced life style for the past 5 or so years and neglected to take care of myself over other obligations for much of that time. About 3 years ago I started getting sick a lot; sometimes very sick. I would pick up any bug floating around without fail, and had recurrent bouts of tonsillitis and ear infections. I used to say my immune system was crap and blamed it on bad genes, and continued struggling through a different sickness every other month that would put me out for up to a week sometimes. I never put much thought into why I was getting sick all the time, but it turns out if you don’t take care of your body, your body will not take care of you.

About a year ago I got into a health kick and started researching the best multivitamins for women. I needed something that was vegan, and something that was made with trustworthy ingredients. I also have a sensitive stomach and could not take multivitamins in the past without becoming nauseous, so the fact that this multi includes enzymes to help the digestion process was a huge plus. After a bit of research I decided to give Rainbow Light a try, and I’m glad I did. In the past year I have only been sick twice. Aside from this multivitamin I have also been taking 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 as well as an Echinacea/Goldenseal blend every day.

Overall, this is the best multivitamin for women at this price level. I can say my health has improved since I started taking it, and I plan to continue purchasing it in the future.

    Unexpected Results!, July 21, 2017

    When it Got Here:
Both times I have ordered this multivitamin it has shown up on time, sealed, and with no damage to the parcel.

    Description of Product:
It looks just like the image shown, with a legible expiration date on the bottom. There are thirty light green tablets a bit bigger in size than a penny, with a strong spirulina smell. I noticed a lot of other reviewers complaining about the smell, so I have this to say (however the reviews are a little dated so maybe this no longer applies): if you have never taken spirulina tablets before, seen or smelled spirulina before, it has a very distinct smell and flavor. These tablets taste strongly like spirulina as well. Spirulina is a nutritious algae which has a very powerful and distinct plant taste (perhaps a little reminiscent of concentrated spinach; should *not* taste like mildew) and odor (the odor I can only describe as swampy). Spirulina turns your mouth green and your urine green. This is normal and okay. Your urine will also turn green/dark yellow when your body dumps minerals and vitamins that it has too much of. This is a common and harmless occurrence when taking multivitamins, especially multivitamins containing spirulina. That is also why it is best to take the vitamins in the morning during your first meal of the day, so that you’re not wasting as many minerals.

    Why it Was Purchased:
My silly digestive tract doesn’t break down food well, causing severe gastrointestinal distress/bloating/distension. Because of this I have always been fairly undernourished, especially in iron. I bought it to ensure I was getting all the nutrients my body needs!

    Allergens:
There are a few ingredients in here that show up pretty frequently as allergies in people, including myself. The addition of enzymes in this multivitamin seems to be enough to break down most of these, but that small amount may not be enough for some people.
**Spirulina** is an algae, which some people can be highly (often fatally) allergic to. This allergy is, perhaps, the most infrequent of everything on the list, but it still might be wise to ensure you’re not allergic before purchasing this product.
    **Kale**
    **Spinach**
**Dandelion Greens** (Personally, I’m very allergic to dandelions in general. They give me terrible indigestion when consumed, which sometimes I get when taking these vitamins without a complementary enzyme supplement.)
    **Beets**

    Estrogen Balancing:
This product contains estrogen and other endorphin and mood “balancers” that react differently in different bodies. As someone whose body processes hormones and chemicals differently from the average, I have never found a supplement which sorted out my anxiety struggles, but this does. I may have low oxytocin or dopamine and low/erratic estrogen to begin with (I was extremely neurotic before these, and also diagnosed w/ mild PTSD), so if you suffer from those ailments, I suggest giving this multivitamin a try. 🙂

    How it Worked (initial):
Initially I didn’t get much of a reaction. I took it with my usual enzyme supplement and everything went through smoothly. I experimented for a few days by taking these without my enzyme supplement and got indigestion and headaches (probably from the spinach and dandelion, maybe from the red clover blossoms as well, since I’m allergic to most pollen and vegetables). After the first few days I got some pretty severe headaches (unconnected to the allergy headaches), but I took ibuprofen each time and they’ve since gone away, so I don’t know if there’s a correlation. If there is, I’m confident it was just my body adjusting to the new influx of needed vitamins and minerals (the same reaction happens when I don’t eat for a prolonged period of time and then stuff my face, so “symptoms” really are about knowing your body). Ultimately, it has worked well.

Unexpected Results for my Body Type/Conclusion:
The unexpected results were touched on above. I’ve struggled with neurosis my whole life, and was tentatively diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder a year ago (tentatively because while my behavior was erratic, I wasn’t quite as erratic as expected). Much more recently I was also diagnosed as having mild PTSD, as well as Nightmare Disorder. Along with the neurosis has always been depression and intense anxiety (especially social anxiety). However, because my body processes chemicals a touch differently (for instance, even a sip of caffeinated coffee/tea usually gives me bad anxiety; kava = bad anxiety; sleep aids = bad anxiety, etc.) and I may be low in certain endorphins and/or hormones, nothing has ever helped my wacked-out emotions. In fact, they would usually make everything worse. However, after a month and a half of taking these, I am calmer, more relaxed, more content, have not had any depressed episodes, and my anxiety is able to be contained. The…

I have a digestive autoimmune disease, so my multivitamin has to be easy on the stomach , which this is. I appreciate that it contains enzymes and probiotics. The miligrams of B-1 contained are high enough to help manage my chronic migraines as well. I definitely notice a difference in my energy, skin and hair when using this.
